Could I please ask what happens to the share amount left sat in my pension pot if my ex does not get informed within the required four months. Where does that money go, and is he still entitled to it, or can I now ask for it to be transferred into my private pension. I have been divorced since Feb 2012.

Is it money that is supposed to be paid to your ex?

Yes but I have read that the pension company has 4mths to issue it to the recipient AND we did not have (and still dont) any idea how to find him. So if he hasn't received it then what would the pension company do with it? It is a local government pension.

Who set the four month limit, was it the court?

The money belongs to your ex so if they can’t get hold of him I doubt they will be able to pay it to you.
