Hi

At the moment I am trying to reach an amicable minute of agreement. To no avail.

Its not my partner who's causing the hold up but the solicitor :S

Is it at all possible for me and hubby to do this ourselves? Can we lodge a minute of agreement ourselves and how much would jit cost if we could?

Hi

Welcome to Wikivorce

No matter how in agreement you might both be, it is highly advisable that proper legal advise is sought from a family law solicitor - Separation Agreements can be very complex documents. It is possible for a couple who are in complete agreement over the financial division and child arrangements to draw up their own SA, and you can download SA templates (ie from Lawpack), which are then completed and submitted in the usual manner. However, if you are unsure about any aspect/clause within the self-drafted SA, seek proper legal advice, as there is very limited scope to change any clause after it becomes a legal document.

Have you tired to chivvy your sols along? Dont forget that we are now into the holiday season, and it may be that your sols has a number of other clients, all calling for him to do work immediately. I know its frustrating, but these things do take time.

thankyou ruby. your help is invaluable.

I am probably just letting my frustrations get the better of me while watching the sols fees rise and rise.

I am however very grateful and will take you advice, talk to hubby and try to give our sols a little gentle push. :)
