Why is it solicitors live in a world of their own or to be fairer their assistants.

I saw my solicitor back in January to start the FDR procedure since then I have heard nothing. Emails and phone calls go unanswered. I have a large sum deposited on account so it's not as if it's a money issue.

I appreciate solicitors are extremely busy and in the grand scheme of things my case is of no importance. However all I want is an acknowledgement and to be told where I am up to and why their is a delay.

Is that too much to ask?

Also my divorce was finalised six months ago and my ex agreed to pay court costs, I have still not received this. When should I expect that money back?

Rant over,

It's a bit of a sweeping statement to make just based on your experience with the solicitor you have used.

Why not take your business elsewhere if you are unhappy with the service you are getting?

A decent solicitor will only respond if the enquiry is valid, or they just waste your money, use them surgically rather than someone to lean on, if they have any news they will contact you.

Average response to an email is around one week, not quick.
