Hi
My ex last year had all my financial information- he now has employed a new solicitor as he was not happy re outcome!
He now wants all this years financial information for his new solicitor
Can i request to have all my old documents sent back to me?
I do not like idea of my private documents either just with his old solicitor or him just dumping my personal information?
Thanks

The solicitor has a duty to keep documents confidential and will keep them on file for 6-10 years then destroy them.

In all likelihood the new solicitor will ask the old solicitor to send them the papers which means that the old solicitor will have none of your documents.
