There aren't lawyers who specifically deal with people with personality disorders.

If you are being harassed by someone who you believe is mentally ill then any lawyer should be able to help you get an order from the court to order the person to stop doing what they are doing.

If a person does not have capacity to deal with their own affairs the Court can order that the Official Solicitor be appointed to deal with the case on behalf of the person without capacity.

However, the process is fairly lengthy as the Court does not carry out capacity assessments and the Official Solicitor's office will not become involved unless they absolutely have to.

Thank you for your response. Basically, my husband left the family home 18 month's ago, and I need to know how to go about filing for a divorce. As he does have a personality disorder

You approach it in the same way as anybody else. You prepare a divorce petition and the Court will post it to him unless you request that the petition be served by the Court bailiff of you instruct a process server to personally serve the petition.

A personality disorder does not bar a person from answering to court proceedings unless a doctor says as much in which case you go down the Official Solicitor route as I said above.
