A how to guide on property particulars, which you are required to do as part of Financial Remedy proceedings, written by Wikivorce.

Introduction

Property particulars are how the court assess both parties housing needs and to get an idea on how much it will cost each party to buy a suitable property. Both parties must provide property particulars for themselves, and also for their ex to show the court what kind of property is suitable for them and how much they will need to buy housing. There are certain things you will need to take in to consideration (both for you and your ex) when looking for property particulars such as who the children are living with (if applicable), how close to work/school for the children you need the property to be, if the house is suitable for you or any children if you have any disabilities etc. You will also need to check your mortgage capacity with a mortgage broker.

You will then need to start looking at properties in your area and make a list of 3-5 properties that suit your housing needs, this is to show to the court how much suitable housing are will cost you. To do this you can look on websites such as zoopla, purple bricks, rightmove ect.

Who is required to submit property particulars

Both the applicant and respondent will need to submit 3 property particulars for themselves and 3-5 property particulars for their ex.

Costs

There should be no costs for property particulars as you should be able to do this research on your own.

How to submit your property particulars

To submit your property particulars list you will need to file them with the court dealing with your case 14 days before your first appointment.
