What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

We are getting slightly off the subject here. I took the photo for a friend who was starting a wine importing business and needed an image. As it was 10:00am and I didn't want to open a bottle quite that early, I am sorry to say that the content of the glass is undiluted Ribena!

Elle, yes, absolutely, perhaps the time will come when, mediation is used as the norm, cut the greedy vultures out of the chain. Start a whole new 'fairer' and cheaper divorce process. Sel repping is on the up, do you think the legal system could cope with that :silly:

Ok Imediate, a glass of Ribena for me and Elle then please if that is all you have to offer us. tch:ohmy:

It's no longer 10:00am - and I do have the odd bottle and cork screw and glasses. You do the supper, I'll do the booze.
