So my lovely daughter is 18 in a couple of months time, fingers crossed she is off to UNI and I will of course support her to the very best of my ability.

I pay voluntary CM at the CSA rate direct into the S2BX bank account.

We have a Decree Nisi and are moving forward slowly.

My daughter has finished her A levels and is awaiting results.

When can i cease payments to the S2BX?
I thought i would then fund my daughter directly. Then when she goes to UNI this will go towards her costs there.

The S2BX will be sitting pretty in the FMH and be well over housed but earns a tad more than me so dont see why i should pay anything towards her housing while i live elsewhere without many comforts.

Happy to support my daughter and want to be sure she gets the money I pay for her.

Must be a few in a similar position.

Cheers

I just called CSA on this matter last week
I also have a private agreement and pay at CS rates... BUT I was told as it was a private agreement and as my son has finished school, I could stop paying now.

...... which I have every intention of doing.

He just finished A levels- waiting for results. Had his last exam last week so that is considered ''finished''

My ex hit the roof too- she threw a cucumber at me. There went her fun for the night.

The thing is I would give my son money directly if he thought more of me than a ''prt'', ''twt'' and other names similar. So he wants to be the ''big man''?. Well he can start by paying his way in this world.

CSA and CM payments are made until the child is out of full time education - usually once finished A levels - this is the same time CB stops and that stops the first week in September! So that''s when you can cease paying CM and pay it detect to your daughter. However if she doesn''t get the required grades she needs to go to Uni and defers for a year and goes back to do further studies at 6th form you will have to continue paying another year.

Chocoholic- this is only true if you go through the CSA. Not for private agreements.

I called last friday as my situation is the same as Esox and they stated I could stop as soon as they finish exams.

Either way she will not be happy!
I pay cm and half her mortgage at present.
Mortgage should be paid off soon and cm payments stop.
Daughter heads to uni fingers crossed- will defer those funds to her instead.

I think!
