I''m one of many, who, post Divorce has not sorted out what happens in the event of my death.

No, I know, it can be a depressing or macabre subject, thinking about one''s own death, but it''s one of the guarantees in life, it is going to happen and I''m the kind of person that wants what I want, not what someone else decides.

So this informative article from Susan Hartley is timely and serves as an important reminder to us all that separation, divorce, cohabitation and re-marriage can very much affect how our estate gets allocated.

It''s a good article, what always surprises me is that people will spend a great deal of money on the divorce and then not bother with a will once its over, most solicitors will write one for a couple of hundred pounds, I used the wiki service for the grand total of £48, it''s not much money to know your money will go to those you want it too.

A new will was first on my list of priorities after my divorce, and I did it at a cost of £250. Money well spent. Don''t leave it on the to do list!!. If you are leaving all your assets to your children make sure you have people that you trust to dish it out until they are at an age (that they can inherit in their own right) A Good article that I hope will encourage others not to leave a will undone.

Oh and just a quick warning, don''t try one of these DIY will''s, for what it costs leave it to a lawyer, it''s a total minefield.
