I wasn''t given a choice (as such) my sol sent me my final bill (well, we thought it was a ''final bill''!) and she enclosed a business card for the partner in the practice that deals with conveyancing and bills with a will questionnaire.
It took me a while of mulling but it''s in place now.

Enough Already,I don''t think what you are suggesting need to be too complex.A Will says who you want to inherit not disinherit.I can''t see how ex wife would have a claim unless she is she is getting Life time maintenance or there is something else in place that means she must inherit?
I made a will after my Divorce to make sure family I don''t want to inherit won''t.I didn''t have to make any reference to them in the will,they just weren''t mentioned.I used a local solicitor who didn''t question my wishes but I must say I don''t have children ,don''t know if that would have made a difference.
The importance of having a Will was brought home to me today when I was house hunting.I went along to view a house which was an Executors sale and ,sadly,it was a young man who had died and left the house to his best friend.Without a Will she wouldn''t have inherited anything.
