I've been trying to get through on 0845 300 3900 but they are just solidly busy. And on the rare occasion you do get the menu when you are about to be put through you are told they are busy.

I've been trying for 3 weeks now..

Hi

The tax credits advice is basically correct for you in your circs in so far as he will not win in a rival claim.

The Tax Credits helpline however is notoriously poor on these issues as evidence by the advice they gave to mumsty.

First tax credits is not linked to CB (no matterwhat TCs tell you) Its possible for one to get CB and the other to get TCs. On each benefit the two parents can nominate the claimant. Where there is a rival claim then they will look at a number of things- mainly where the kids spend more overnights.

Thus your tax credits claim is in no danger. Its a shame he is are not able to work together with you. In that time of situation there are things that you can do tactically to legally increase state revenue to the households as a whole- namely for the one to claim for one child and the for the other. Then one parwent should pay the other soem cash.

Seeing as this type of arrangement would not appear possible then you need to apply to CSA asap and they will get maintenance for you- though you will likely get an angry phonecall when they contact him lol

Funadamentally what people have told you is correct in so far as your TCs arent in any real danger from him unless you are able to go down the other route.

I received two identicle statements dated the 17th May then a different one dated the 18th May
I received a letter dated the 24th May saying that their printer had screwed up and printed the wrong information and could I return the statement that they had sent me.
So was that the two dated 17/5 or the one dated 18/5.
I then had to spend 4 days on the phone "because they are busy" trying to find out how they messed up.
How come I can't send in a tax return late because "I am busy" but they can refuse to answer the phone because they constantly mess up and they "are busy"
