So what he is really telling his daughter is "I won't earn more than 500 so that I don't have to improve your and your siblings quality of life" what a shinning example of fatherhood.....
You are doing the right thing in supporting your daughter's decision regarding contact, it seems your ex is quite determined to f**k things up...give him the rope to hang himself..

Thanks, though it is like sending the kids into the lions den. Though i shall wait and see if he continues with the contact my daughters want, i am not convinced he will and as you say he will do all the damage himself.
