I wish Pete!
And I'll tell you all what...after 3 flipping years of being made to know every luxury of my ex's life (at his insistence as he seems to think I "want" to know these things) while I've struggled into work day in and day out so that our kids can have a decent life...if I ever get any money out of the sly bstard I'm booking to take the kids to Florida...no joke!

Firstly to LouCheshire, totally agree and I dont think there will be many, if any, that dont think the CSA should be chasing those trying to defraud the system. However that is a totally different matter to the one I was raisding and there are many threads on here of a similar story.

Sherbert you have the monthly gap as between £448(should be £464) to £1216. I imagine that a PWC would be receiving more benefits than this, the figures were just made up for ease of calculation. I would like you to consider the situation with the roles reversed, eg the 1st parent(PWC) earning £350 and the the second parent(NRP) gaining £70 benefits (probably about all they would be entitled to without the PWC status). In this situation the 1st parent(PWC) would end up giving the 2nd parent (NRP)£10/week. So monthly totals would be £1360 to £320. The current system in this situation would create a gap of £1440 to £240........this strikes me as wrong, especially when you consider the case that the 1st parent would also get CB + CTC.

You say you dont see my system as fair, because of the £448 to £1216 gap) I think what you are actually saying here is that it isnt fair one person earns a lot more than another. But surely the parent who earns a lot of money should be entitled to keep a fair proportion of that. A fair system should have both parents contributing an appropriate amount (in respect of their earnings) when their child stays with the other parent. It should NOT be a one way street.

Sorry I dont know enough about DLA to comment on this.

Im undecided about benefits, perhaps they should be exempt.

Still don't see it as fair , Your taking from the main carer who has most of the cost and giving back more to the parent who has less cost .

My food bill for the children is substantially more compared to his as is my petrol costs and fuel ,I buy all the clothes , hair cuts shoes , parties etc... yet he gets I would say 5 x the amount I do yet I have to have money deducted to improve the NRP lifestyle further ?

The problem is with any calculations there are so many different financial situations and emotional positions that people get dumped in.there can never be a fair outcome.there will always be winners and losers.in this cluster ***** of a process I have accepted that in any given situation I have ended up on the fleck me I have just well and truly assumed the position and been flecked over again.I am the yoda Jedi master. At assuming the position!! I must be a very bad boy in this life and quite a few previously and yet to come I have concluded ;) ;)

Well its pretty obvious to me that the CSA really need to spend more time chasing the self employed who apparently according to several of these posts find it easy to abuse the system , and stop taking the easy option and making rest of us NRP S pay there share .
