The biggest problem with the CSA is that it does not take into account the child. It sets parents against each other and ultimatly often drives bad behaviour on the part of the PWC. Often the PWC will seek to minimise the number of overnights to maximise the CSA payments the PWC is often blinded to the fact that the NRP will incurr additional costs on those overnights. It would be interesting to see how many PWCs would seek to minimise overnights if it made no difference to the CSA payments, I am guessing that they would be a whole lot more relaxed about the situation. The fact is that be you a PWC or NRP you are only half of the children's parents and many NRP's (not all) want to play a substantial part in their childrens' lives, sadly the CSA and its blunt edge approach supported by the courts often causes this to be reduced. THe system fundamentally sucks.....
