it's a good point. I still find the suggestion insulting, however! It's a personal thing, I agree, and obviously what works for one won't work for another. It worries me that it can be a way of controlling the PWC - putting them in a situation where they have to ask for money and it can be given or withheld on a whim, really, depending on whether the NRP feels the request is worthy enough. Of course from the other side,it could be considered controlling of the PWC to buy everything for the child, make the decisions about major purchases and tell the NRP what they need to contribute to. It works both ways.

I don't agree with it as a strategy and believe that as adults we have to manage the money we have and make sure our children don't go without the essentials. It is more complex when parents are separated, I do recognise that. Ho hum. Would be nice to get some maintenance, cash or in lieu, any contribution would be a bit of a result!

Mumtoboys...I'm hijacking this thread but just had to tell you....this week I got my 1st CM payment off ex....lets have a drum roll....ah hem.....I GOT £5!! I have waited almost 4 years for it and it has paid for half of our daughters riding lesson this evening!
I am so looking forward to 4 years time when I will probably receive another £5 which I will use to pay for 1 of our 2 kids to get into the soft play centre!
Hmmmmm....lets say no more eh?

Party hat on? If I wasnt pregnant I'd be cracking open the champagne!
To celebrate I think I'll get up at 6.30am tomorrow and go to work which will make a run of 14 straight days in my shop (school hours only but alternate Saturdays) without a rest day due to last Saturday being my official day off but had to work in the evening as had a buffet on! Anyway, yes I'll go back to the shop tomorrow morning while my kids are spoilt by my parents so I can earn enough to feed, clothe, entertain and provide Xmas and B'days for my little ones.....as no-one else (naming noone) is bothering to help!
Bitter...slightly
Twisted...probably
Proud of myself....definately!
