Hi

I just wondered if anyone who has had the NRP investigated by the CSA Criminal compliance team, if they have had a positive outcome in your favour and how long the investigation took.

I think you'll find that's a 'how long is a piece of string' question! I can't think of anyone who has been successful although sooner or later, the CSA do seem to be able to get something out of the NRP. There are a good number of us here with self employed exs who don't pay/pay minimal amounts so hopefully there'll be someone along soon with something positive to say.

Self employed ex here...lives like a premiership footballer.
Had CSA criminal compliance. I told them and gave them evidence that a lot of his money went into his wifes account. They said they couldnt go into anyone elses account (I know they can!).
They went out and saw his 6 bed house...they saw his cars and he cancelled a meeting with them because he was flying off on another holiday...and yet all I got out of their 2.5 year investigation was £5 a week for 2 kids!
In one breath my ex says they're living off his wifes inheritence...in the next breath he tells me his wife won the lottery...yet, I know HE was the one who managed to buy their massive house as his wife kindly copied me in on an email message to him saying "thanks so much for persevering..now we have our dream home"...why would she have to write that if she'd funded it?? I even sent the CSA a printout of this email!!
It's not right and it's not fair that my ex has 1 child who has everything, the life (and more) that our 2 used to have...while his eldest 2 (my kids) have to live a frugal life but my ex is money hungry and unfeeling...at least when my kids grow up they'll know how much I went without to provide them with a nice life.

HI The ex is an employee at a dr's surgery as a nurse practitioner. When our case 1st started 2 years ago they used a net weekley income of £566 and awarded us £84 a week, the next month that had all changed as the NRP illedgedly changed her hours and was only earning £188 a week so maintenance was £24 a week. A year and half later This March she asked my husband if we could do an agreement and cancel the CSA So We asked for £250 a month and she said no £150 so we stuck with CSA. My suspisions started so i started calling her work to pretend to make appointments they celearly said she workd 4 days a week 7.30-4.30 and also the GP website clearly state they employ 3 full time nurse practitioners and name her. I faxed all this evidence to the csa and in July they rang to tell me they sent the case to criminal compliance. I am just hoping that they can confirm all this and that the maintenance gets paid correctly. As i know she is working full time and probbly on her £40+k per annum job

Looks to me from what you say that she did cut her hours and got a new assessment. Perfectly entitled to do so.

She has now increased her hours and so is keen to ditch the CSA as she knows if you request a review it will go up substantially. Until one of you, and she is unlikely, requests a review the current assessment will stand.

I have spoken to the CSA and the guy i spoke to advised that my case went from an inspector looking at the case to an investigator. And apparantly should have a response within 8 weeks. When i asked the diff between an inspector and investigator they said the inspector maks first point of contact and if they think info provided is not true they pass onto an investigator. Has anyone else encountered this??????Or is this just a fob off

I couldn't say whether it's a fob off or not but I would advise that you make very regular phone calls to the CSA to ask for an update. As long as you remain polite (very hard sometimes with them, I know!), I have found them generally willing to go through things. I also think they are more willing to talk at length in the evenings which is something to bear in mind.

I have a log of calls I've made, who I spoke to (they always give a name when they pick up the phone) and a brief comment on what was said. I figure it may come in handy one day.

dont expect miracles as they are busy and I suspect they get shouted at a lot. If you want them to help you, you need to stand out as pushy but reasonable with it. Inspectors/investigators (whatever they are) will probably be sent to her workplace now - and that takes an age (months) to deal with if that's the case.
