I have had my CTC renewal and its says that from 31/8/12 my eldest son does not qualify for CTC. He is not 18 until June next year so I don''t see why he hasn''t qualified since August last year?
Of course they aren''t answering the phone, I can''t even join a queue, hopeless.

Is your son in full time education? If not, CTC stops when a child reaches 16.

How nice of HMRC to alter my claim and not to notify of the change until 9 months after the change.
Aren''t I supposed to get a renewed award notice whenever there is a change?

Have you informed them that he is still in full time education. If he is at college you will have to get evidence that he is attending.

I didn''t realise that I was supposed to. I did notify HMRC that he was in FT education and I have been getting CB.
Surely as they changed the claim weren''t they obliged to notify of the change.
