Based on a 1 day final hearing

£2500 + VAT for counsel
£500 + VAT for disbursements
£5500 + VAT for solicitors costs

Most matters will come in under this amount but when a matter goes to final hearing there is no way to know what other issues might surface along the way. If professional valuations or a conference with counsel is required the costs rise dramatically.

My sympathies but when you knew your husband could hold out presumably because he had the money to do so, could you not have gone for "Maintenance pending suit" so that he would have had to pay towards your costs?

Why was he not penalised by the judge for not giving full disclosure on the pensions?

How could the FDR judge have given his view on the likely settlement at a Final Hearing?
