Divorced but won''t give a clean break

Thanks for the responses, it is a nightmare situation!

But, does anyone know if I can force a Clean Break through the courts? Will the judge make a decision if neither party can agree?

My family have offered to loan me the money for legal fees - they just want to see me getting my life back together again.

Can anyone answer this question?

The Courts can certainly award a clean break, or, to put it technically, dismiss all claims by either party against the other ( except to the extent stated in the order ) .

If your ex will not agree to this, yes, it''s open to you to go to Court, but this does cost money and you may want to get legal advice

(a) to assess the risk of a successful claim ; and (b) whether it is worth spending money to shut out a claim that may never be made and might not succeed if it were.
