Hi,
I lived with my stbx for over a year. At first we used to do things like ask if the other would you like a cup of tea although as hostilities intensified those attempt at civilities ceased!

The only thing I found stupid was washing a few clothes in the machine and then him washing a few. It seemed petty and was obviously wasteful in every way. I would scoop up the towels from the bathroom and tea towels and put them in.

We shared the household chores and costs. We still have a joint life endowment which matures in June 2010 and we kept the joint bank account open just to deal with that, as the insurers said a single payment was better for them.

The mortgage was settled when the house was sold in December and I'm not expecting any difficulties with the divorce as a result of these arrangements.

Hope this is helpful.

Hi - I have got a similar situation - we are living separately now but to start were in the same house for maybe 4 months.

Do you have to prove you have been sleeping separately etc and if so how!!

Thanks!

I intend to file for divorce in the next few weeks on grounds of unreasonable behaviour. We too are living in the same house. Separate rooms is easy but do we also have to cook and clean separately? And if we don't is it grounds for my SBTX to claim the marriage has not broken down irretrievably? For reasons that are totally beyond me, he does not want the divorce.
