It may be that he will be brought down to earth via mediation. No qualified mediator will subscribe to the notion that you havent contributed, if you have been the primary carer of the children.

Wihtout knowing his pension value I cant relaly comment but you being able to rehouse mortgage free coupled with your income and CM would probably be bare minimum of what you could expect I should think.
