Travelled almost 500 Miles to get away from the lousy weather in Edinburgh to hear someone who lives literally 2 minutes away from me sing about the Sunshine On Leith. :S

Listening to Tangerine Dream. Tyger. A song based on the work of William Blake. And one of TG''s few tunes with lyrics

In the last few days I returned from a trip abroad to the sad news that two Scottish musicians Mike Marra and Ian Hardie had died so my song for the day is Mike Marra''s "Chain Up the Swings."

Ian Hardie was among the first people I met when I came to university in Edinburgh during the 1970s. As well as a solicitor he was talented and profilic musician and composer and edited a popular volume of new compositions written in traditional style. Ian is wearing a red check shirt in this old clip from STV.

On a happier note the fiddler sitting to the left of Ian is Chris Hoy''s uncle and his daughter and my cousin''s son also got engaged whilst I was away.
