u,ve just learnt this evening that i am illedgedly to be divorced with in 6 wks.. that my husband has said he does not know where i live for me to sign papers.. is this legal

no i only found out of my stepdaughter half an hour ago has told them we will be divorced in 6 weeks

i know very little at min.. my stepdaughter rung me in tears.. saying her dad had told her he had put in for a divorce and that he was laughing because he didnt think i would find out about it.. he still lives hull and has apparently said he does not know how to find me

Your husband would need to sign a statement that he has taken reasonable steps to trace you so he will be deceiving the court. You could try phoning the courts in Hull or anywhere else you think he might have petitioned for divorce and ask officials whether an application has been made and if the Nisi has been granted.

However, sadly a marriage takes two and when one party has decided it is over there is little to be done, the divorce will go ahead at some point. I wouldn't waste too much time or energy on it and concentrate on resolving any financial and children issues.
