Make a list of all your personal belongings (but lets not go in to the realms of shampoo etc, we are talking drivers licence any official documents etc) and take it to a solicitor, ask them to write him a letter listing everything that you wish to get back.
Tell him he has x amount of days to return the said items, and say failing that you will attend the address on xxx date and get them.
once you have a date if you need to attend to get your stuff the ring your local Police and ask for an officer to attend with you to prevent HIM committing a breach of the peace.
