Fantastic idea Dylan, I wish you well, I read the couch surfing articles at the back of the Guardian on Saturdays, and would love to give that a try sometime...
It'll be a voyage of discovery for you, I hope you keep us posted.

Thanx daisygreen

I read the same article I joinned a few US forums and Ive had some great offers also had advice on where to buy a car from how to get car insurance without a US addy.

I don't want to do to much planning because that would take all the fun out of it but I do have to have some sort of budget also I need to sort out visa's etc and after that who know's where I will go that week , it will all depend what mood I'm in lol.

Dylan, my adventures, along the same - but in the space of 2 weeks, with my children since split have been to cross the Pyranees in my tiny car with a tent, no itinery, and lots of adventures including swimming in mountain rivers.
This year - just booked the ferry today, a crossing to The Netherlands, a slightly larger car, bikes, tent and children, will have a great time over the next few weeks dciding where we may like to go, children are getting a bit carried away and suggesting Hungary... in 2 weeks??
Ex never wanted to have these kinds of adventures, so its a very positive thing to have re discovered a passion for travel and adventure. Pre ex I did a bit, and did travel alone sometimes, and met some amazing people along the way.

Hi Dylan,
I know exactly where you're coming from: If my littl'un wasn't so little I'd have done the same myself a while ago. It still crosses my mind now, but I have to stay here.
