I desperately need some advice

Separated, living in same house with my two teenage children

Husband has filed for divorce, grounds are ridiculous.
But today he''s gone mad?
Been verbally abusing myself and my daughter, lying, accusing us of all sorts? (None of which are true)
My so name out of his room and got very upset, was arguin with him asking him to stop.
Meantime my daughter is hysterical and he carries on abusing us.

I ended up calling police, had call centre on phone and my daughter
Hysterical in background.

Police have been round and basically until he gets physically abusive there hands are tied....

Can I do anything???

My children are not his, they are children of the family but not biologically his...

"abuse my children one more time and i will knife you in your sleep"....would be my reaction, but probably very very poor advice.
Lying and saying he did get physical would be a valid option for me as well.
In a word, anything that removes the threat from my children.

Hi you could apply for occupation and non molestation orders and may be successful if you could show his behaviour is causing harm to the children.
Legal Aid may be available.

How does a non molestation order work?
Can I get one that prevents him shouting or even talking to us? As he will not stop? Even when asked and even when my daughter is reduced to tears he still continued, accusing us of abuse when she is hysterical...

Well it depends on the order but non-molestation orders cover harassment, molestation, violence or threats of violence.....that should cover your situation and protect you all from this type of abuse

He has got physical in the past (over two years ago he attacked me while drunk - silly me believed he would change) he has also blocked my exit before using his strength and held me down so I cannot leave when he has wanted to ''talk''
