Hi,

I just wanted some advice about holiday''s or regular contact to a Non Hague Convention Country.

Basically, I''ve been offered a job in the middle east which is a great opportunity for me and my wife and young child would go with me.

However, I have regular contact with my eldest (10) and thought I could argue for him to spend a few weeks in his school holidays with us, in addition to regular phone and Skype contact etc. I''m a NRP.

I''ve just heard the courts are skeptical though when it comes to these countries which I can understand.

Would it be worth still trying to argue for him to come stay with us? How are my chances? What can I expect? Has anyone gone through similar?

A lot of it would depend on the trust the mother has with you, more than what the court says, i would imagine.
If you decided to keep that child and were a citizen of the country, it would be near impossible to challenge.
Not sure where you would stand being an expat.
