Not really after any advice, just a rant really.

After months of arguing with my ex husband, I applied to the courts to have a contact order changed, to provide some stability during the school holidays.

Well.... what a waste of time. He said no so that''s the end of it. He wants contact during the school holidays but on his terms only which is on an ad hoc basis.

How the he''ll am I supposed to make arrangements around that?????

The only thing that was ordered was that we both attend a separated parents information programme. What''s the point in that if it''s not going to resolve anything.

to be fair the magistrates totally agreed with me but because the ex didn''t they couldn''t order anything.

Oh well I look forward to having some control and structure back in my life..... looks like I''ve got to wait 4 years for it tho....

Until then he still controls every aspect of my life.

After 6 years of being separated and divorced for 3.... I thought it would get easier..... how wrong was I

Rant over

How frustrating for you, but a court can''t force a parent to spend time with their children.

Have you thought about taking back some control? Email him well in advance of each school holiday with the dates the children are avaible and give him a timeframe in which to confirm he is able to have the children on all or some of those dates, let him know that if he doesn''t respond then you will take his lack of reply as him being unable to make those dates. And then make your own plans around those dates.

He will only control every aspect of your life if you allow him to.
