Hi All,

No Consent Order yet as we ex is "going to war with me" over the finances.

ex wife has £150k in bank
I have £50k in bank

No other assets apart from my company which allows me to look after our 11yo 70/80% of the time. If those assets where sold would pay the corporation vat and tax with very little left over (its a one-man company)

Once I've paid the school fees she takes home more than me (this is post consent order)

I have paid half the school fees as I am prepared to suffer myself so he continues in the school he has been at for 8 years.

Ex has made me aware that she is applying for a school fees order to force me to pay 100% school fees.

I'm happy to pay once we have a consent order, but until then its a joint liability.

Any advice more than welcome.

Can you afford to pay them? You say you are going to pay them after the finances are sorted

If she doesn't pay half are there plans to withdraw him from the school and find a place at a state school?

What sort of income do yo each have?

The issues are she is spending money without a care in the world right now. Taking family members on holiday and paying.

We can both afford to pay our half until finances are sorted. She has 3 x the cash I have.

ex: £20k
me £28k

Used to earn a lot more but stress has caused by business to suffer.

Thanks

I am going through the financial settlement of the divorce right now, I hope to pay for my daughter to continue to be privately educated but my wife states at the 2nd FH she considers the school a luxury I choose to do and that if I choose to do it she is not prepared to have her spousal maintanance reduced or considered even in the settlement

In short she wants half the cost of schooling on to of what she has asked for already

Oh yes and my daughter lives with me and my wife offers no support in any way nor does she see my daughter.

The court suggested my daughter should do her final two years in high school and move at time of 6th form.

I say I shall do all I can to provide the best for my daughter.

Final hearing in 4 - 5 months
