What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

My ex and I agreed to separate in July 21.
Lived in the family home together until April 22
I accepted £305,000 full equity on family home.
I am now renting, he has bought a place.

H income £156,000 P/A plus shares and bonus
W income £20000P/A
H pension £260,000
W pension.£4000
i work 35 hrs per week

Children 21,17,14
stay with dad 2 nights per week

I accepted equity just to get out as it was unbearable for me, ex and children.
3 bedroom property will cost approx £400000 which will take all my savings and I have next to no pension
child maintenance £1450

am I being unreasonable to ask for more as it looks like 50/50 split. Is it too late to change my mind. Agreed Consent Order in principal, have not signed.
have Decree Nisi so far.
Advice greatly appreciated

You can only have a consent order if you agree. If agreement is withdrawn, there is no consent.

Have you taken legal advice?? Have you had full financial disclosure??

What was the total equity in the FMH? What other assets are there apart from pensions??

What size mortgage can you obtain??

It may make sense to book a fixed price legal financial consultation (see services tab).

Total equity in family home was £305,000 which I got. I can get mortgage at £100000. 3 bed Property in my are around £425000
Ex dine a financial closure in Feb however I don’t think he was truthful as previously said he gets £100000 yearly shares but only disclosed £20000. No other savings I know about
Consulted solicitor back in Feb who said I should go for spousal maintenance
