What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hello I could really do with some advice on this..my ex wife is very much delaying divorce proceedings in regards to financial matters and is looking for a pension sharing order. This to me is an expensive waste and we were initially looking at mediation as an alternative. I filed for the new no blame divorce and can apply for the Final Order although no where near reading with finances. A lot of the internet says it's advisable to do financial at the same time as final order, which I get for tidiness. But I want to move on. Is there any real loss to me if I do the final order prior to the financial order? If I do can I then still do a financial order? Can she prevent or object to is? What are the real pros and cons. The only assets are equity in the house and pensions with a potential lump sum Any advise would be amazing Thank you,
