What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

if a "further order in default of agreement between the parties" is contained in the original 2016 Financial Remedy Order as a requirement to sell the Former matrimonial home , is it a continuation of the original case if the (former) Respondent) now seeks such an order (for sale of the FMH) but has relocated and wants to change venue, and does a venue change itself require permission of the court? does this property adjustment order, if issued, now become part of the original Financial Remedy Order?

I think you could speak to the court that originally made the order to check whether they would accept a combined application for enforcement of the earlier order and change of location for any hearing. If they are ok with this that's what you should do. Otherwise apply for your local Financial Remedy court hub.

Any application needs to be served on the other side as well as sent to the court.
