What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi, are bundles single sided or double sided? Have read conflicting information. Can you have both single and double sided paperwork in the same bundle or does it have to be the same throughout the entire bundle.
TIA

Practice Direction 27a covers the production of bundles. There's also guidance on electronic bundles which are now widely used.
The maximum number of pages is 350. I think that is one side only.
The main thing with a bundle is to consider how easy it is to navigate for the judge. It is, in effect, the story of the case. You need a good clear index, a bundle split into logical sections and the key information ES1+ ES2 plus open offers right at the start.
A: preliminary documents - include chronology, form H (costs) as well.
B: Applications and orders - in chronological order. Include form A, Decree Nisi/conditional order (or final/absolute if relevant) and any child arrangements orders as well as notices of hearings and orders from financial hearings.
C: statements and affidavits, Forms E (no enclosures), questionnaires Inc answers, any other statements ordered by the court.
D: Other documents - produced on order of the court - e.g. valuations, actuaries report, mortgage capacities, housing particulars. Offers ( which can be put in A)
If there are additional documents you want the judge to see, these can go in a miscellaneous section E. This may include individual documents originally attached to form E if appropriate/ relevant.
