What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

We are mid divorce (nearly two years already) and in our early 70s.The judge has cancelled our FDR which was listed for 15th February because there is a Directions Hearing for disclosure listed for 4th June. Since then my husband, the Applicant, has gone silent on me. He wont answer emails and his solicitor has advised that she is no longer acting for him (until after the disclosure meeting apparently). He has stopped paying my rent that he agreed to pay until we are divorced. He has all our savings and has a substantial works pension. I only have a state pension. I am in danger of losing my home. We have a home in Italy that at the moment is a shared property that I hope to get all of as he has given property and money away to his children for 'safe keeping'.
Can anybody please help with what my next steps should be. Can he just withdraw from the divorce proceedings. I think he is trying to squeeze me into agreeing to take the minimum he is offering which is half his pension and half the property in Italy. I think he thinks that if I have nowhere to live and no money I will cave in and accept whatever he is offering. Grateful for any advice.
Thank you

He cannot simply withdraw from the proceedings. Who asked for the directions hearing? If there are problems with his disclosure then you need to concentrate on preparing your position statement, questionnaire, schedule of deficiencies and other documents for the directions hearing.
