What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi everyone - new to the forum. After spending 6.5k on legal fees and getting nowhere with my ex husband we are now in the early stages of the process for financial settlement - and I cannot afford legal rep. Has anyone come across the template/form for the FRC4 and if so where did you find it please? hoping someone can help. TIA

Umm. Not sure. What's the form for? Pretty much all the standard forms are on gov.uk.

Doubt the link will work but if you google "FRC4 Judiciary" the first link is to a PDF and in the section marked Fourth Schedule from Page 13 it details the steps required and what the emails/letters should contain

I don't think it is a form, it's the name of the guidance document that sets out the way financial remedy works with the (new-ish) financial remedy courts.
If you need help with the court process and are LIP, it may be worth considering our cost effective help with court service.

Are you in the court process?
I wonder if he is talking about form E? This is the form you complete and exchange to disclose your respective financial positions. It is used in the court process and also in voluntary disclosure out of court.
