What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

morning - my ex husband provided his form E without any attachments as "all to follow". so in turn i didnt provide any of my statements etc. I have submitted form E and all attachments to court. shouldnt he have sent his to me? I've completed the questionnaire as obviously I need to see evidence that he has so little money in his bank accounts!

Just because he is failing to comply fully doesn't mean you should not, especially if you are in the court process.
You need to make it clear in the questionnaire that you reserve the right to raise further questions when the documents are provided. If you are in the court process the judge will order that the supporting evidence is provided and given a time frame. If they still fail to comply you can ask for a penal notice which could result in them being jailed.

thank you for your helpful reply. I provided my financial information at his request last year via solicitors ... got nothing from him at all. He is a game player. Therefore it was no surprise that he didnt provide any supporting documentation with the Form E. And given he had previously had information from me which was not reciprocated I was not inclined to do the same with the Form E.
