Hi Guys.

Wonder if you could help me with a question.
In calculating CSA I know it is taken on net pay after tax, nat ins and pension contributions.
My problem is I didnt know about the pension as I wasnt paying any at the time we were together, too busy providing etc.
So now I am on my own whilst I still want to pay towards the kids, what does the CSA deem pension contributions?
At present I am paying into an ISA which I deem to be my future savings for a 'pension' if you like as I am not a whizz kid in the field of pensions.
Would the CSA constitute this kind of thing as counting as a pension contribution ?
What do you have to show if the CSA contact you regarding your outgoings?
Do they see the regular payments going from a bank account into a 'saving' account or has it got to be a puckka pension account that they can 'trace' etc.

I would say no they would'nt see this as a pension , more as savings .So would'nt be taken into account with the CSA.

Hi Bobbinalong,

ISAs are viewed as investments unless contractually linked to a pension scheme.

sorry, elle, did you mean 'arent' ?
or do you mean they are only viewed as investments and not pension type savings?

Soz Bobbinalong...am not awake yet!

ISAs are investments, whether cash, equity or stocks and shares.

They can be contractually linked as pension investment, if not they are held as an investment product (asset) and not an expense.
