hi im new on here this is my story so far i am filling for divorce from my husband was only married for just under a year when we split but was together for 8 years we have 1 child together who is coming up 5 he has been on and off drugs thru out our relationship i came home and found him doing drugs which is why i ended it we decided to both live in the house(a 2 bedroomed bungalow) and pay the mortgage (which is in joint names) and bills till he could find alternative arrangements in the end i had to leave because he was been violent abusive and aggresive towards me and infront of our daughter since then he refuses to leave the property let me in and has changed the locks and refuses to give me a key i now have to live with my mum and her husband who i dont get on with in a 2 bedroomed flat me and my daughter share a room and a double bed i am now going to court as i have an occupation order against him as i need a home to live in i have since met a new partner and are having a child together x

I hope you find the support and information you want here.

Your ex has to allow you access to your home and you can ask the police to help you facilitate this if he is uncooperative.

hi thanks for your reply i thought this was the case but all he says is that his solicitor has told him i have no rights i dont want to go back to living with him as he is violent thats why i have got an occupation order to get him out any thoughts on how u think the court may decide x
