I was divorced 10th June 2009, my x wife gave birth to our child 20th June 2009 which meant I had no PR of child as she also did not put my name on birth certificate.

She has been obstructive ever since and not allowed myself and my son (who resides solely with me)to see the child.

As`a consequence of her behaviour, there will be a hearing on 10th September where I will be applying for shared residence, PR and specific issues.

Now that my x wife is aware of my actions, she has decided to allow my son and I to see our new born child for half an hour every two weeks until the hearing takes place on 10th September. She has stated that the contact should take place at a public hotel near her village which is thirty miles away from where my son and i live and that her mother will be present also.

Could someone advice whether my son and I should go ahead with her arrangements or wait for the hearing on 10th Sept. I don't want to screw things up before the court.

You need to establish contact with the child as soon as possible and this contact, although small is a start and one from which bigger things can be built on.

If you just start at the court there will be doubt as to your reasons for doing it as you turned down an opportunity for contact. You do not have to accept whats offered long term but as an interim measure.
