hi, husbands ex wife left the children with us 2 1/2 years ago and went to spain so that she was not liable to pay csa. She has returned and begins supervised contact next week whilst a cafcass report is done.
We have approached the csa to start proceedings to gain support, yet she tells us that she is a limited company and that she is earning less that the minimum wage and thus we will get very little from her. She was earning circa 50k in spain contracting, so cannot believe that she would accept such a massive drop in wages. Have been let down by csa before. Is there anything we can do oour end to help find out about how she is opperating as LTD company and how much she is likely to pay. She has at every turn had all the financial cards, she came out of the divorce with an 80/20 split as she had the kids, then spent it all, gave the kids to us, leaving us with 6 children and resulting in me giving up my well paid job in the nhs to be full time mum to 6 kids under 10. She gloated daily that the csa did not have any powers abroard, even though she was paying no taxes in spain. We are frankly fed up being screwed financially and are frustrated at the lack of support from the csa.
Any advice gratefully received.
cheers dani

Even if it does come to nothing, I think you should still go to the CSA as you certainly won't get anything if you do not apply!

wheels in motion thru csa, but so frustrated when told in gloating manner by the ex wife that she has engineered her salary and accounts to ensure that they appear as low as possible. Not sure that csa ever persue anything deeply. Is there a way that they have of finding out somebodys real wages??

Have read posts tonight where by people have years after a split approached their ex for monies, could my husband do this to his ex who as said earlier squandered over 100k in 18 months before giving us the kids that we fought for 4 years just to see and spent 15k in court over contact issues because of her??

They checked the tax office records for my ex to make sure her return and tax information match up with her payslips and declaration as she has a 'selective' memory.

There is of course the option of applying for a variation , income inconsistent with lifestyle.

really useful to know as just had email from her gloating that she will be paying pennies as she is a ltd company and that they have taken her finances from her over the phone, yet she was earning 50k a year in spain, her partner does not work and thus she is the main earner, and I cannot believe that she would sacrifice their lifestyle and that she will be really earning the minimum wage!
makes me soooo mad.
