I would like information on child support and working aboard. My children's father now works aboard and refuses to pay maintenance that was agreed by the courts when we were divorced. He regularly visits the country as he has a house here. The CSA has told me they cannot become involved since he will not disclose his income.

How is it that he can work aboard, own a house valued at over half a million and still avoid maintenance payments for his children?

Make a claim under Schedule 1 Children Act. The CSA cant get involved when he isn't here, but court can.

The courts have jurisdiction over CM when one parent lives abroad. There are international agreements for the Reciprocal Enforcement of Maintenance Orders (REMO) with many countries.

In the first instance you would need to apply to court for an order and then the court can help you apply to enforce the order. The form is sent to the REMO section at the Official Solicitors Office and then to the equivalent authority in the country concerned where the order is enforced.

There is a list of REMO countries here .

Is he in a country where REMO would apply?
Do you have proof of his income?
