The CSA don't seem to be able to answer this question so if anyone can help, I'd be grateful.

My stbx is going for an op next week and will be off for 6 months.

He reckons he will get SSP AND £300 a week from an insurance policy that covers him against accidents and sickness.

Will I get anything from this or just £5 from the SSP? Help!

It depends if the insurance payout is taxable income or not.

Basically if it has to be disclosed to the tax office and is classed as income then you will but if it doesn't then you won't.

Same as periodical payments aren't taxed and classed as income for the CSA either.
