Hello, it's me again.

A moral issue I think more than anything else but I am in a situation where I want to apply to the CSA so that I can contribute to my son as his Mother won't accept anything from me. However, she is also denying me contact and I am about to apply for court orders for contact and PR but my income won't allow me to do both at the same time.

What do you all think should take priority?

Also, when applying for PR one of the things the court looks at is whether a NRP has contributed to the child. Would me applying to CSA now increase my chances of obtaining PR or would it be sufficient that I have attempted to contribute direct to the Mother at this stage.

Thanks

Nick

I think that yes do pay court fee's etc but evidence that fact that she will not accept money from you and also open an account for the child and show that you are putting something in to it on a regular basis. Alternatively look into premium bonds or something similar.

This shows the court that you are committed and you do want to contribute to your child you are just not being allowed to at this moment in time. It shows long term committment on your part because your intention is to hand the account over to the child when they're 18 is the mother continues.

And it also shows that you're not just raising this court action to be difficult and cause trouble and are prepared to put 'your money where your mouth is'. ;)
