My ex husband stop paying child support in August. He lives with his girlfriend and rents out the house he owns. The girl at the estate agents that deals with the rental of his property is a friend of mine, but due to data protection she cant help me.

He started a new job on the 21 October and has still not paid me any money, so i decided to get the CSA involved. I gave them his girlfriends address and the address he owns that is rented out, but the csa have written to the house he owns and not the one he's living in, this is because this is the address the tax office have. Hense he has now ignored 2 letters and are going to his employers. I was told that as he rents his property I can apply for a variation!!!

I believe that to be, whatever he makes over on the rent he has to pay me a percentage... BUT... get this.... I was told that ( and im going to put this in capitals) I HAVE TO PROVE HE OWNS THE PROPERTY, SO I HAVE TO OBTAIN HIS MORTGAGE DETAILS/STATEMENT AS EVIDENCE THAT HE OWNS THE PROPERTY AND RENTS IT OUT!!!!

Can anyone tell me how the hell Im suppose to get all this information that the csa are asking for? Do i have to turn myself into a house burglar and ransack his house to obtain his mortgage statement, or even better do i strap him to a chair, shine a light into his eyes, pull out his fingernails to make him confess to the CSA that he rents the house out?????

I was gob smacked, I was told by the CSA that if he fails to disclose this on the documents they send him, there is nothing they can do about it!!!! WHAT, am i getting this right. The house he rents out is very close to me and I see his tenants happily going in and out of his house and he gets away with it???

SO the bottom line is, he can lie through his teeth and get away with it and thats ok with the CSA.... how crap is that...:S

Couldn't agree more. What a complete load of crap, waste of time and waste of money the CSA is.
Great at at getting money out of law abiding PAYE employees but then they are more interested at protecting the privacy of frausters. You would think with all the complaints about the black economy they would jump at the chance of investigating these people.

..............thank god, im not alone in thinking that the CSA are here to test our patience, just like CAFCASS...... please dont get me started on them

I know that the CSA were really bad mouthed in the press some time ago, dont you think they would have cleaned up their act???? oh no of course not, aren't they a government agency? because if they are that explains a lot!!!! ( they should change their name to, lets just sit back and let someone else do the donkey work agency):S

An organisation that was conceived with good intentions but now exists purely to provide work for the agency its self.
What would alls those people do if it wasn't for the CSA.

To get the information, go to the Land Registry site (when it is open) and ask for the "office copy entires" of the register for that address - costs a few pounds, and says who the legal owner is and who the mortgage company are.
