Wonder if anyone can give me some advice. Is there any way you can claim backdated child maintenance? I thought you could do it through the CSA but have found out that you can't. Is there any other way? Any advice welcome.

You can only claim from the date you applied to the CSA, hence the need to claim asap.

I thought you could backdate claim to one year? Or is that for SM ? And with a court's permission?

I think perhaps you are confusing the enforcement of arrears when there has been a child maintenance agreement included in a consent order. The courts normally have no powers to impose CM and the CSA assess payments from the date they first contact the non resident parent and CM cannot be backdated.
