Hi

I am trying to understand any likeage between my ex applying for Child Tax Credits and maintenance payments that I will make - preferably via a private agreement.

Is it possible that she will have the CTC entitlement reduced based upon my maintenance payments?

Also - our finances won't work out unless she applies for CTC - can I insist that she makes a claim?

child maintenance payments are not taken into account when calculating CTC.

No you cant insist she makes a claim for CTC or any other benefit
