Hi,

I am almost finally at the end of my divorce, I am agreeing to pay child maintenance based on the CSA calculator. But for the last 8 years my step daughter^'s father has been paying a pittance because he was assessed before 2003 and he "claimed" he was renting a flat, all this time he has been living with his parents. My ex didn't want to rock the boat at the time. Am I within my rights to request that he be re assessed ? and is it possible that he can be re assessed ?
This may rock the boat but financially this will help the Ex !!

Are you paying for your own children, or for your stepdaughter as well?

You don't have any rght to request a reassassment as the arrangemtns is between your ex and her former partner.

If you are paying for your stepdaughter as well, this is presumably on a voluntary basis - you can't force your ex to ask for a reassessment, however, you can consider what you are willing to pay, and sugges t to her that she get his payment reassessed and that you will then help out if need be to 'top-up'

However, if you and your wife have reached an agreement you are, if not happy with, at least willing to settle for, why rock the boat?
