I am currently in the first stages of getting a reciprocal enforcement maintenance order against my ex partner in France. Has anyone been through this before? How good are the French Courts at enforcing these? I think my ex will be evasive by changing addresses.

Thank you

Are you applying for CS or SM? Through a UK magistrates court and then the UK REMO office?

Thank you for responding.

It is for CS and I have to get an order through the Magistrates Court, who forward it to the REMO Unit as I understand.

I made initial enquiries and filled in a form with the brief details at the Magistrates Court a month ago...have simply been told 'it is with the clerk' and 'these things take time' on a couple of occassions I've called since then.

This should help explain how it works,

The wheels do turn slowly though so you could be in for a wait.

What were the forms - C1, C10, C10A? Seems like you have not had a hearing yet.

Unfortunately it seems the Magistrates courts are not very knowledgeable about this.

I have yet to fill in any form other than a general enquiry form from the Court which did not even ask for details of the child. The only person there with any knowledge of REMO orders is now away until the New Year...

Colours, is there standard forms that need to be completed for these cases?

Thank you all for your responses - there is very scant information on REMO orders others that the 'official' line.

I think its C1, C10 though no-one seems to know. They often say they don't deal with it and to go to county court. At least your court seems to have someone with remo know-how. Is your court due to be axed? You may have to go elsewhere then.
