Hi

I pay CSA money every month. Does this cover any fees that the mother pays for nursery and childcare costs? (Our son is under 3 so the mother has put him in a private nursery.)

Hi. no it shouldn't do depends if she is getting tax credits or not but the chances are she will be and they will be around £500 a month. My daugher is 3 this year and ex gets £531 a month.

Yes CSA money can and should be used for any costs for the child.

You can chose to pay more than the CSA formula states, to help with extra costs such as nursery fees but you can't be made to pay more.

A lot is said about CSA money not covering all the child's costs but its not meant to cover all the costs incurred by a child its to cover the non residents parents share of costs.

The CSA formula is actually weighted against the non resident parent as its expected that the resident parent has more responsibility for things such as childcare etc.
