Hi - wondered if someone out there could help with pour query. My husband is happy to support his child through university but for the next year his son is on a placement earning a salary. He will not be living at his ex's home. My husband has always paid the money to his ex rather than his son as she insisted. He is happy to resume payment in a year when his son resumes university but surely he doesn't have to pay while his son is earning for the next year? Hope someone out there has the same experience.

Grateful for any help.

I guess it may depend on the basis for the CM being paid. Is it via a court order? Or a voluntary arrangement? If it is an order when was it made?

Hiya

It is via a Consent Order but we have a letter from his ex saying she would not expect him to pay while son is on his placement. However that was while she was trying to get extra money!

The CM states while he is in tertiary education. However for this year he is being employed by a firm and will be earning a salary - he is nearly 21. If my hubby has to pay he will but a bit like some of the posts i have seen, the ex doesn't give the son money and as he only stays at her house for 2 weeks a year, the keeping a roof over his head is wearing thin.

Thanx
